I’m an
exceptionally well-travelled Wolfie.
Although there's nothing I
like more than driving up to the football, I also
like to think that I'm a Wolfie With Culture,
and not ashamed to make time to see the world.
This page contains some pictures from my travels
(and I've also added a lovely soundtrack from the
lovely Josh Ritter. Enjoy!)

Here I am,
slightly obscuring whatever dull bad was on
the main stage. |
There were some pink sheep. Their
conversation was poor. |
I saw that the
festival attracted all sorts of strange and
confused people - even, it seems, some West
Brom fans. Guess what happened
next...only kidding, kids; don't play with
matches |
I have decided not to try out body building. |
The Olympic
Stadium |
The Reichstag |
The Berlin
Wall |
Some German roads. Not a particularly funny place, Berlin. |
Snow in France |
Snow in Italy. Spot the difference. |
Trying to get
into shot in Cabo de Palos |
Checking out the (closed) pool at the hotel |
Visiting the
(practically deserted) beach |
Surveying the (still busy) golf course.
When do people stop playing golf? |
I am so cool I
can ski and dress up in a comedy outfit |
Here I am taking some time out outside
Tignes |
Santa Wolfie
shows off his moves... |
...and soaks up some Froggy culture |
Here I am at the Great
Wall of China.
It was great. |
Trains between Beijing and Hong Kong were
done out in the classical 'tart's boudoir'
style of interior decoration |
Hong Kong was big and busy... |
...and hot and crowded. |
I tried the local cuisine... |
...and the local drinks. |
I liked the local drinks. |
Here's a lesson to anyone
who might think it's funny to mess with the
HSBC lions. |
Don't stick anything up a lion's nose.
It ends badly. |
And a lesson in perspective. I am not,
in fact, bigger than the budda here... |
...It is, in fact, a very big budda. |
Went to Newquay.
Tried to surf.
Turns out I absorb water. |
Here I am at
Bolton Abbey... |
...cheery little place. |
To be honest
the next day I didn't get out much, worried
about the rain and the effect on my fur... |
...very pretty though I hear. I was
able to imagine how it stayed so green. |
It was hot,
hot, hot... |
...and so was I |
Here's one of
my favourite holiday snaps. |
Unfortunately I couldn't get on any of the
rides at the Pleasure Beach at Yarmouth. |
Here I am at
the airport... |
...and then straight by the pool to cool
down |
Isn't that
pretty. I quite like the flowers too. |
The natives were not all friendly. I
tried to strike up conversation, but to no
avail. |
Hey hey.
I've gone worldwide! Here is an iconic
image. |
Here I am enjoying a little boat trip out in
Central Park |
And although
I'm definitely a creature of football (or
soccer, should I say), I thought I'd try out
a bit of transatlantic sporting action.
Frankly, it was rubbish. |
Another iconic image. And also some
old statue. |
As a Brighton
resident I thought it was only right I took
a trip to 'Brighton Beach' Everyone,
and I mean everyone, was Russian. A
little surreal. |
All the fun of the fair at Coney Island. |
Don't even ask
how I got up there. |
As ever, I made a few new friends on my
travels. This was not the most
attractive of them. |
Did I not look
cool... |
...although less so when I wouldn't look
down on the chairlift |
I attracted
quite a lot of attention out on the town.
I think this was because I'm so hard that I
wear shorts and t-shirts whatever the
weather - certainly people pointed a lot |
It was good to get out on the slopes to get
away from the constant attention. |
As part of a
cultural exchange programme and to bring you
an in depth understanding of the pros and
cons of 'the Graham Souness question', I
went out with some bird from Newcastle |
As well as talking football, we visited some
of the major local attractions... |
...and here it
is. |
At the end of the day, Monty the bird made
the right decision (we were going to
exchange shirts, but I am too muscular for
the puny bird). |
We stayed
somewhere I avoided pronouncing for the
whole holiday |
I made some good friends, and we plan to
keep in touch |
Not such a
good friend (and he's not smaller than me,
just further away) |
It was very pretty there |
I pondered
life by the riverside... |
...and scanned the horizon for an end to the
ceaseless rains |
Enjoying the
view... |
...and making new friends |
I don't get
out much, so even a trip out the house
counts as a holiday |
Soaking up the sun |
