This is the IN-TER-NET

This is the IN-TER-NET

I’ve taken a week out from the football and from my hectic schedule this week to do some charitable work amongst the needy.  Here you can see me showing young Monty Magpie (somewhat depressed of late, despite a few lucky wins) what all this internet business is about.  I firmly believe in education so I also let him know what a proper football team is at the same time.  And to show that I really care for him, I even propped his little bottom on a few books so he didn’t look too silly in my photo.  Really, we’re the best of friends – read all about another of my recent encounters with Monty here.

A reasonable draw from Wolves, although this is the kind of game we will need to be winning to survive this season.  A lot more sharpness in front of goal next week…Here’s hoping Ebanks-Blake and Doyle can both get up and running and –  more importantly - scoring, as soon as possible.  I don’t want to keep hearing that Wolves ’should have won it’, let’s start hearing that they did.

Magpie Unmasked

Magpie Unmasked

Well, well, well.  I’ve been busy.  You will, of course, have noticed that the football season is now underway.  I took a trip to rainy Plymouth.

But other news has hit the headlines at the same time.  You may remember the mysterious ‘Magpie’ from the hit comic strip ‘Bat-Wolfie at the Old Glue Factory‘.  As you will see from this hidden camera shot, not only has “Magpie” been unmasked as Monty Magpie, a deluded Newcastle-supporting beastie, but he also seems to enjoy a little fancy dressing.  Doesn’t he look sweet, though.

Bat-Wolfie and the Incident at the Old Glue Factory

We all love a bit of dressing up

We all love a bit of dressing up

My ranting stage is over and I’m now looking forward to the start of the next season. To amuse myself until that time, I have enlisted the help of some old friends to put together a little story. Click on the thumbnail to the right to read the thrilling tale of how Bat-Wolfie and Magpie saved the day (and then are saved in turn by the rather scary looking Wendy).

Please note that no animals of any kind were harmed in the telling of this tale.

Wolfie and Monty Magpie kiss and make up (kind of)

Wolfie and Monty lark about

Wolfie and Monty lark about

Fresh from the disappointment of Ipswich (which, believe me, is disappointing on so many levels), I paid a visit to my old pal Monty Magpie.  Regular readers may have seen that we’ve had our differences in the past (he started it!), but I’m pleased to report that we’ve kissed (actually, hugged in a very manly way) and made up.  You can see the evidence here for yourselves as we both pretend to be winners.  Apparently Big Sam was disappointed that Newcastle couldn’t even achieve his lofty ambition of a scoreless draw with the mighty Reading.  The less said abut Wolves the better, although I have managed to say something in my match report.

Wolfie: Southern pansy turns tough guy

Wolfie shows who the real tough guy is

Wolfie shows who the real tough guy is

I‘m just back from a little jaunt to the Norfolk Broads.  I will admit that a little disappointment in Wolves loss to Reading in their final preseason friendly, combined with a little exuberance before the start of the new season, both played a part in the ‘incident’ you can see pictured here.  But mainly, this bird deserved a lesson having tried to humiliate me online.  Let it be noted who struck the first blow (and also, of course, that I’m the clear winner in any encounter with that puny bird, or indeed his team).

(no toys were harmed in the filming of this story)
