On Berlin and its weight of history

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Just back from Berlin. It was an interesting place and certainly a lot of history packed into one place. I did find it a bit difficult with getting the usual holiday snaps done though due to the slightly higher than average chance of being accidentally snapped in front of some monument or other to people who had been murdered. So you will not be seeing the picture of me inside the cute looking grey bus. That aside, I had a very enjoyable time – pictures to follow.

In other news, I’m pleased to report that the ‘Build-a-Bear’ Workshop have kindly offered to give me some assistance in finding a suitable outfit for the end of the season. I can’t wait. But today it’s a crucial game against Ipswich, so I’m off to prepare.

Wolfie engages in a little nostalgia

Wolfie engages in a little nostalgia

Great-great-GrandWendy was searching through her chest the other day and came across this souvenir programme for the 1953-54 season, reviewing all the games of that league-topping year. I think I shall dip into it further next season, but did you know that on this day in 1954 Wolves drew one all with Bolton Wanderers. Those were the days!

P.S. My eyes may look like they’re not looking at the programme in this picture, but that is because I’m thinking very hard.
