Doom and Gloom

Written by World Wide Wolfie on November 7th, 2006

We are told by Wolves’ esteemed Chief Executive, Jez Moxey, that due to low attendances this season, transfer budgets for January are likely to be severely reduced.  Moxey is partly right when he suggests that this slump is about disappointment in the budget that has been available for the team.  This plays a part, but is a financial reality and maybe we need to live with that, but perhaps the Club need to start looking beyond what they can’t do and at what they can.  Charging up to £30 a ticket and even expecting £10 per supporter for the privilege of booking online, instead of using it as a system to encourage sales like every other business in the world, hardly encourages the more casual supporter, who Wolves have to rely on to fill the ground every Saturday.  I despair.
