Well, of course it’s April fools day and a couple of items have caught my eye in the news today: one thankfully an April Fool, the other sadly not. Firstly the news that (drum roll) Wolves’s favourite slightly rotund member of staff, Mr Jez Moxley, is apparently in talks to star in the next series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. I’m particularly taken my by the news that he is ‘set to perform a solo routine in the centre circle at half time during the forthcoming home game with Southampton.’ MOXEY, GIVE US A DANCE. MOXEY, MOXEY, GIVE US A DANCE. Full marks to everyone involved. I laughed a lot, and the video is definitely worth a look.
Today also saw the news that Michael Kightly is set to be out for the rest of the season after sustaining a broken metatarsal in a friendly against Shrewsbury. Terrible luck, and we can only wish him the best for a speedy recovery. He’ll be a big loss, but I’ve no doubt the team has sufficient resilience to push forward in the remaining six games.
